    Event Description:

The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 15,000 professional women of color in over 288 chapters located in 42 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.

As education, cultural enrichment, and health and wellness are key components of The Links, Incorporated mission, the Monroe-Grambling (LA) Chapter is hosting an arts event at Ruston Artisans with internationally recognized artist, Mr. Morris Taft Thomas, along with Mr. Rodrecas Davis, Assistant Professor of Art at Grambling State University. Special guests attending this event will be a group of high school young men who are participating in the organization’s 2019 Biennial Beautillion that will take place this spring. The presentations by Mr. Thomas and Mr. Davis are intended to enhance the knowledge and appreciation of the local community for the fine arts and contributions of African American artists.

This event is free and open to the public.
