Ruston Parks & Recreation
The Ruston Parks and Recreation Department (RPAR) is a small, dedicated staff committed to enhancing the quality of life throughout the community by providing the recreational opportunities so vital for personal growth and development, regardless of age.
Activities range from Pee Wee, Youth, and Adult athletics, to sports camps, exercise, and wellness programs and special events. RPAR staff takes pride in developing and presenting diverse programming that allows people from all ages and economic backgrounds the opportunity to participate.
They operate and maintain 12 park sites that include 16 athletic fields, 5 tennis courts, 5 outdoor basketball courts, and 12 playgrounds. We also operate the Bobby James Memorial Gym, McLane Multipurpose Center, Ruston Sportsr Complex, J. C. Love Softball Complex, Municipal Tennis Courts, and the Ruston Municipal Pool.
Ruston is growing and our department is meeting that growth with construction of a new park in the Cypress Springs area of the City. Our park facilities are constantly being enhanced to ensure that our facilities stand the test of time and increased use.
