Ruston, LA – The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted its final Capitol Chats event for the 2023-2024 year with Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) President Will Green on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Davison Athletics Complex on Louisiana Tech University’s campus. The event was sponsored by Etheridge Pipeline and Conduit. Green addressed business leaders from Lincoln Parish, providing legislative updates from the ongoing legislative session and LABI priorities geared to enhance and elevate Louisiana’s business climate.

“We were pleased to welcome Will back home to Lincoln Parish and want to thank him for engaging with our business community on matters that have wide-ranging impact on our economy,” said Elizabeth Turnley, chair of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “We are grateful to Will for his steadfast leadership in advocating for the business interests of our community and state.”

The event featured a presentation from Green and a question-and-answer session moderated by William Dearmon, President and CEO of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber. Dearmon and Green discussed LABI legislative priorities that have made their way through the legislative process, along with other reforms currently being considered by lawmakers. Insurance reform, enhanced education accountability metrics and the prospect of a constitutional convention were topics covered during the one-hour program.

“We’re excited about the success of this ongoing series that provides the opportunity for our local business leaders to connect with state and regional leaders about important issues facing our state,” said Dearmon. “With partners like Will Green and LABI, I’m confident we can all work together to guide Louisiana toward a prosperous future for all.”
